Ivy Days (Part Three) - Shea Donovan

Ivy Days is an interdisciplinary expression of childhood memory. Each element of the piece is grounded in the recollections of my six year old self. The poem is written in the style of a nursery rhyme, the images painted in watercolors and pulled from a sketch book- the two together photographed both in the leaves, where the memories were made, and in polaroid to place them in the past, where they now live. The Ivy Days reflects my earliest encounter with death and defines the first epoch of my identity I can clearly remember.
